DISCUSSION
This is the place to air your views and make suggestions - even criticisms! You don't agree with what we said in other pages? Say so here.... but don't forget to say who you are and which local group you belong to.
On another page - Widening the boundaries - it has been suggested that we include jazz on this website. As a fully paidup ex-fan of 100 Oxford Street (Lyttleton), the Cy Laurie Club in Windmill Street and later Ronnie Scott's, you can be sure I am all in favour of jazz. But there is already a fully-formed and very active Jazz Group, and I really think it would be over-egging the pudding if we try to cater for every taste.
No. My opinion is that this should remain a resource for those who love classical music and folk music.

Hello. Just a quick question
I was wondering if this pbwiki is only for classical music or does it also cater for jazz, folk, blues and such music that we may not have a name for, but which is popular? In my case I enjoy the music of Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, Simon and Garfunkel just to name a few. Are these also catered for here?
Thank you,
Charlie
Hello Charlie and welcome to the new pbwiki. I am also a fan of those three (4) singer/songwriters and am a Jazz and folk music buff also . However these are all likely to have their own outlets and fan bases. This wiki is designed purely as a Classical music drop-in.
The reputation of a Composer usually diminishes for some time after his death (have never understood why) It almost certainly did in the case of Elgar in the 1930s but I feel that the pendulum for Sir Edward has now swung too far the other way
Norman Edwards
Somehow I never could quite get on with Elgar; the exception being his lovely song 'Where Corals Lie', which you can listen to here sung by Clara Butt.

What a wonderful and exciting new venture! No doubt it will have many fans very soon. I might not appreciate every item on the site, but it will give me an opportunity to make an objective assessment - why? The two artist available at the moment, pure magic. The way Martha Argerich lovingly strokes the piano keyes is food for the soul. Thank you Tom.
